Name: Southwold Blonde Beer
Brewery: Adnams (for Marks & Spencer
Bought: Marks & Spencer
Not too impressed with the look off this beer - I can see where they are going with the craft beer look but it doesn't quite work for me. In terms of taste it's good at first but lacks the real hoppy punch I've come to expect from a good blonde beer. It's also a bit on the sweet side. Despite its sweetness, Southwold still has some good flavour a going on, with citrusy fruity notes and even a hint of banana for good measure. I can imagine this being a good BBQ beer, but overall a bit disappointing. It seems M&S's attempts at the craft beer world needs a bit more work.
